I say "Demo when it's ready, Game when it's done" because that's exactly how it's working out. Yes, we have internal dates that we think we will meet. No I'd never post them since all but the final internal estimate is wrong and each time we would have a forum/net full people up in arms that we didn't ship the game when we thought we would.  

All I'll say is we are working very hard.  

DrSin - can you say to us whether EPIC the announced date 05/02/2004 keep can  

Epic has not announced a release date period. Any date you see, or are told is a guess on someone's part. The first date we will announce will be somewhere around a week or two from the demo's release and it will most likely be Mark who makes the announcement.  

So unless Mark, Steve or Cliff come here and give a date, it's probably a guess.

guess what I mean is that the "when its done" comments have really started to grate, you may judge that that is a prefered response to giving rough estimates, I happen to disagree, I would appreciate " hopefully in the next 6 to 8 weeks " over " done when its done" you see my point ?  

And when 6 to 8 weeks pass and we didn't make it this forum would be amok with flames and venom about how we screwed over everyone again. There really isn't a correct answer other than when it's done. I know it sucks but what can you do. Some people would take the 6 to 8 weeks for what it is, a guesstimate, while most would take it as set in stone.
